Catching tadpoles

tadpoles In Dali old town at dawn and dusk you can now hear frogs croaking whereever there is a pond. Most of the ponds around the old town aren’t the kind of places you want to examine too closely, but we found by chance there are tadpoles in the rivers too. Now’s the time to go looking, if you like that kind of thing – just turn over a few rocks, the water is teeming with them.

No idea what kind of frog they are – they’ve got green eyes, the tadpoles are huge (like the size of a thumb), and they have rough skin. Could be toads I guess. No idea what these water bugs are either…
